Having worked for 20 years in Payroll and HR, Diane wanted to try something new. “I took a gap year much later in life than most, to figure out what I wanted to be when I grow up! Kathy Panepento’s passion for serving others at the end of their lives really inspired me.” Diane became a volunteer at Crossroads House in 2018 after taking the End of Life Doula training class. She learned to provide comfort care measures, focus on non-verbal communication, assist with memoir-writing, and has sat vigil in the middle of the night beside the bed of a dying resident. As the Director of Development, she is involved in fundraising & financial campaigns, WBTA monthly radio spots, the Crossroads House newsletter, and sharing the stories of their residents and the mission of comfort care with the community. “Crossroads House is the house that love built, and maintains.” In her spare time, Diane, a wife, and mom of two, makes teeny tiny dolls and fairies and enjoys spending time with her husband at their cottage.
