Testimonials

Friends and family members visiting with their loved ones at Crossroads House have expressed feelings such as those below. We are able to provide the loving care at this critical juncture in their lives because of the generosity of people who have supported this ministry for the past eight years.

"From My Heart to Yours: When I started this last journey with my mother I could never have imagined the rough road ahead of us. There were so many doctors it was hard to keep track of them and even more decisions to make. She tried her best to beat the cancer but it was not to be. Faced with still more decisions we were referred to Crossroads House.

When my mother went there we didn't know what to expect. It seemed too good to be true. Well, it was more than any of us could imagine. We were welcomed with open arms and told to use the whole house as our own. Mom loved to get to know all the volunteers and staff that tended to her needs as well as ours. In only a few days we felt like we were home. Mom was made comfortable and so were we. We watched as all the anxiety and worry left my mother's face. She started to relax and smile and we had our mother back. It was obvious she had found a safe and peaceful place to live out her life.

It was a very special time for all of us. When someone you love dies from a terminal illness it's a strain on all the family, but when your family member crosses over with abundant love, it makes life for the family so much more bearable. I believe my mother received more love at Crossroads House than she received in her life. My mother left us surrounded with family, love and peace. What more could a family ask for? Words can never express the depth of our gratitude to everyone who made our experience at Crossroads House possible. Thank you."

"We have sent donations before, as memorials, but I had never had the opportunity to visit you before until I visited my friend. It is truly a house of love. You are all so kind, caring and respectful. My first visit consisted of me sitting there crying. But then I began to feel a sense of peace and love, and I knew my friend was where she needed to be and was with people that would take loving and tender care of her Thank you for all you do. We are very fortunate to have a place like Crossroads House in our area. God bless you all."

"Thank you so much for the care you all gave to my mother during her stay there. It was such a comfort for us to know she had such great care that we knew we could not give her. To say thank you seems so insignificant but thanks a million times over."

"You all made my cousin's crossover to a better place so much easier. With gentleness and compassion she was able to accept leaving her wonderful family. I was fortunate to come to Batavia and see your wonderful home. I do hope that in knowing the family, you were enriched. I know the family, her daughters and their families gave me much strength."

"Mom died at Crossroads House on Halloween, her favorite holiday. We have fond memories of your compassion and care for her. She felt you were her family and thoroughly enjoyed getting to know each one who tended to her needs. I don't know how she would have adjusted to that difficult time in her life without you. I believe God knew that and graciously provided you as her extended family."

"My loved one passed away in 2003 ago and I still think of the exceptional care and love he was given at Crossroads House. My heart is filled with thanks to the wonderful staff and volunteers for the beautiful memories I now have."

"May God bless you all for taking care of him in such a special way. He was very happy and comfortable and he loved everyone at Crossroads."

"Thank you so much for taking care of our mother (and us) while she was there with you. What a blessing you folks are."

And even a family companion pet wrote:

"Thank you for taking such good card of my nana. You filled her final days with love, faith and peace."
