RESIDENT CARE

Crossroads House focuses on...

  • physical care -  symptom control and management in conjunction with the certified health agency and the resident's primary care physician with particular attention to all physical side effects of end of life care.
  • emotional care - active listening and helping the resident and family to cope with the emotional stress accompanying impending death.
  • spiritual care - attending to the residents and their families spiritual concerns.

 

NURSING

Crossroads House...

  • is staffed with professional RNs, LPNs, CNAs and trained Aides. A nurse is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • nurses are responsible for preparing, prepouring, labeling and stocking unit dose medication for the residents.
  • nurses are responsible for the supervision of the volunteers and para-professional staff .
  • has a nursing staff that assesses the need for further symptom control intervention. They then contact the certified health agency, which in turn is responsible to implement the needed palliative intervention.
  • has a volunteer medical director that is available for consultation upon the resident's or family's request.
