SAMUEL P. MARCHESE

He loved his family, he loved his work, and above all he loved life.

Samuel P. Marchese's life story is a simple one. He was born on December 21, 1925 to Felix and Antoinette Marchese. He grew up in Batavia, New York, along with three brothers-- Joseph, Tony and Louis, and three sisters-- Rosie, Mary and Kay.

Sam was a veteran of World War II, fighting bravely on the front lines as a Private First Class Machine Gunner. After the war, he worked with his father, brothers and sisters for the family-owned and operated grocery store, Marchese Brothers.

In Batavia, he raised a family of three daughters, Antoinette, Sandra and Paula, and one son, Sam Jr.

His strong faith, dedicated work ethic and love of life were admired by all who knew him.

On May 15, 2000, after receiving wonderful care at THE CROSSROADS HOUSE, Sam was welcomed by God into the Kingdom of Heaven.

NOTE*** Thanks to a most generous donation from Sam's daughter Antoinette Clancy, her husband Emmett T. Clancy and their children, Maureen, Kathleen, Emmett, Jeanette & Timothy, Crossroads House now has newly remodeled front and back doors/ entranceways and porches, new lighting fixtures/systems and intercoms, all in loving memory of Samuel P. Marchese. (12/21/25 - 5/15/00).

On December 16, 2000, the Renovation Project as well as the Samuel P. Marchese room was dedicated in memory of a very special man. (See newspaper article and photo.)
