"In 1996, Kathy Panepento and Marilyn Snell (whom I worked with at Hospice) approached me with a new venture to help people with another need. I was willing to listen, but when Kathy took us through the house and said that she had a dream, I said to her that she had a nightmare, not a dream! The house was falling apart!!! But she said with lots of help we can do this and I had faith in her so I said "Okay".

After one and a half years of fundraising and a lot of elbow grease, Crossroads House became a reality. It was then that I began to think about why I volunteer. All the other places didn't seem as important to me anymore. I know God sent me to Crossroads House. Helping someone out in their last days here on earth was what he wanted me to do all along.

If you are looking for new friends, good times, a spiritual uplifting, come to Crossroads House - we have it all. I promise you, it will be the best thing you have ever done with your life. Come spend a four-hour shift with me and I will bake you some cookies!"
